Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit can now reveal how a Bangladeshi politician on a thirteen-thousand-dollar salary built a half a billion-dollar property empire.

Badiuzzaman Chowdhury, a former land minister, purchased hundreds of luxury apartments in London, New York and Dubai.

He’s now being investigated for money laundering after the fall of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government.
