On Wednesday May 22nd the IPI held its annual IPI World Press Freedom Hero and Free Media Pioneer award ceremony and reception. This year award has been given to all Palestinian journalists covering the war in Gaza, where Israel has been waging a massive attack on Gaza for more than seven months. Annually this award honors journalists and media organisations who have made significant contributions to the promotion of press freedom, particularly in the face of great personal risk.
